Fake Real Estate Negotiator and Tenant

Fake Real Estate Negotiator and Tenant

Our Company received some complaints referring to the above matter from some landlords around Shah Alam & Puchong recently. There are more than 2 con men who claimed to be our agency negotiator and faking our tenant title to deceive and swindle some landlords’ money. We are here to clarify this matter and hope that public be aware of those con men. Some simple ways to avoid dealing with fake real estate negotiator are:

1) Collect the name card of the negotiator and confirm with the agency by calling their office number.

2) Pay the professional fee to the AGENCY FIRM and NOT to the personal name of the negotiator.

According to some landlords, some fake real estate negotiators have called them up, informing them that they have tenant wanted to rent their house or office. The fake real estate negotiator brought the fake tenant and met with the landlord. The fake tenant will then agreed to the rental after some negotiation and pay the rental to the landlord by cheque. The fake real estate negotiator asked the landlord to issue to him the professional fee (commission) on the spot. Landlord has issued a cheque to the fake real estate negotiator without any delay. To the surprise of landlord, the cheque received from tenant was bounced because that account has been closed for some time and the cheque issued by landlord has been cleared and money cash out by the fake real estate negotiator.

We advised those victimized landlords to report to the police and we have also reported to the police after we knew about those incidents and hope that police can take stern action on those con men.

We sincerely hope that more people are aware of the above matter and help the public to avoid being cheated.
